Boston Scaffolding & Ladder Accident Attorneys

We Will Fight for Your Rights After a Fall

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports that falls cause more U.S. construction worker deaths than any other type of accident. In addition, falls injure more than 100,000 construction workers every year. Because of the danger, OSHA regulations require that construction workers at a height of six feet or more are protected from falls. However, accidents still happen every day.

Rawson Merrigan & Litner, LLP represents injured construction workers throughout Massachusetts. Our attorneys have more than 75 years of combined personal injury experience. We can investigate your ladder or scaffolding accident and seek compensation from the negligent party. Please call 617-830-1219 for a free consultation.

Scaffolding Accidents

Scaffolding accident deaths comprise a large percentage of construction site fatalities. There are three types of scaffolds used at construction sites: Supported scaffolds, suspended scaffolds and man-lifts or hoists. The dangers they pose include:

  • Collapse
  • Falls
  • Contact with power lines
  • Being struck by falling objects

Scaffolding accidents often cause serious injuries to the head and back. A collapse can cause workers to become trapped and crushed. Electric shock and death by electrocution can occur if the scaffold touches power lines.

Ladder Accidents

Ladders can be very dangerous because they are often unstable. They may not be safely positioned, they may slip from their supports or they may be on an unsafe surface. Attempting to carry objects when climbing a ladder can also cause a worker to fall.

A fall can result in brain injuries, broken bones and spinal cord injuries.
