Car accidents are sometimes caused by a driver failing to follow the rules of the road. Such accidents may leave a victim not only with physical injuries but also with financial hardship due to lost wages and medical expenses. When a person is injured in a car accident, he or she may be entitled to compensation for the costs associated with the incident.

At around 5 p.m. one recent evening, a Malden, Massachusetts, man was injured in a four-car collision at the intersection of Purchase and Turnpike streets in South Easton. The accident investigation conducted by a police officer at the scene indicates that an 18-year-old Stoughton man driving a Buick failed to yield and was cited accordingly. The result was that the Malden man collided into the Stoughton man’s Buick and a third vehicle. Those two cars then collided with a fourth vehicle.

The Malden man was injured and taken by ambulance to Brockton Hospital. His condition is unknown. The man is lucky he was not more seriously injured because his car was pushed into oncoming traffic, which is where his car collided with the fourth vehicle.

A person who is injured in a car accident due to the fault of another driver needs to be fully aware of his or her legal options. In the confusion that often follows a traumatic event such as a car accident, victims sometimes delay exploring their legal options; however, it is important for victims to gain a full understanding of their rights to pursue the appropriate legal options and receive any compensation they are entitled to.
