While all car accidents pose a serious risk to the health and safety of those traveling in the car, people involved in a head-on collision have an additional split-second to react compared to those in accidents where a car plows into the rear of another vehicle. Those injured in a rear-end car accident often have no warning of the impending impact. Six teenagers were lucky to escape with relatively minor injuries in one such accident in Massachusetts.

In a late-night accident, a car driven by a 26-year-old man rear-ended a 2004 BMW, according to the authorities. The BMW was being driven by a 17-year-old female, who was accompanied by four other individuals, all aged 18.

The male driver and a passenger in the BMW were trapped in their cars due to the impact of the accident. Responders had to use specialized equipment to extricate them from the damaged automobiles. Four of the six individuals involved in the accident have been released, while two people continue to remain hospitalized. Their injuries are not life threatening.

The passengers of the BMW were returning from a foam rave party. So far, police have excluded alcohol as a factor in this accident and are focusing on other probable causes for it.
